I highly recommend the Pilot Powers to sport riders. I haven't ridden in the rain too much, but the amount I have has been fine. unless the wear gets progressively worse. I expect to get 7-10k miles out of my tires. I've not seen any substantial wear, and I've done about 800 miles of aggressive twisties (combining the mileage from all my group rides and personal lean tests ). ![]() I've known people to only get 4000miles out of a rear, but they must be riding extremely aggressively on very poor roads. This is with probably 20% commuting, 40% long distance (highway miles) and 40% aggressive (using more than just the center of the tire). So, that makes it a sport bike, but I've done some sport touring on it.Īs far as wear goes, I don't ride too aggressively on public roads, so I've only seen about 10% wear after about 3000 miles. You can ride these things to the very edge (in controlled situations, of course) and have complete confidence in the tire. I really like the tire! Once it is warmed up, the only way it will slip is if there is sand/gravel in the road. I've got Michelin Pilot Powers on the Ducati SS1000DS.
